Albemarle County Home Destroyed in Fire

A family of four on Three Notched Road in Crozet experienced a devastating fire in their home. The house has been deemed a total loss. The couple and their two children were fortunate to escape from the home unharmed but were unable to rescue any of their possessions from the home. The fire crews responding to the call were able to get the fire under control relatively quickly but not, unfortunately, before the home was deemed a total loss. Albemarle County Fire Rescue attributes the cause of the fire to having “combustible materials too close to an operating electrical appliance.” The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
