Terry L. Tereskerz

Terry L. Tereskerz is a 1977 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, who practices primarily in the areas of personal injury law and family law, including divorce, support and separation, real estate, corporate and business law, and wills.

In his personal injury practice, he represents individuals who have been injured, for example, as a result of motor vehicle, trucking or construction accidents, or as a result of a defective or unsafe product or by a domestic animal. He also handles cases in the area of medical malpractice.

His family law practice is concentrated in the areas of division of property, spousal and child support, and the drafting of separation and pre-marital agreements.

His corporate practice is an outgrowth of his extensive corporate law experience. Upon graduation from Law School, Mr. Tereskerz was a senior research associate and Assistant to the President of the National Legal Research Group, and thereafter was in-house counsel for one of Charlottesville's largest publicly-traded corporations until 1985, when he became affiliated with the firm. He continued to represent this NASDAQ registered company for the next sixteen years, until it relocted its corporate headquarters to Sarasota, Florida. He draws upon this experience in his representation of small and medium-sized businesses and start-up companies, regardless of the choice of entity.

Prior to entering the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Tereskerz attended the Artillery and Missile Officer Candidate School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and served one tour of duty in South Vietnam as a First Lieutenant, U.S. Army, 25th Infantry Division, incident to which he earned, among other citations and campaign ribbons, the Bronze Star Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster.

Mr. Tereskerz is married and, with his wife Patti, who is of counsel to the firm, has two children. He is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. His hobbies include sailing on the Chesapeake and golf.
